No. 21 UNLV women win third straight Mountain West title over SDSU

The women of the No. 21 UNLV squad achieved a third consecutive Mountain West championship with a perfect victory over San Diego State. Desi-Rae Young’s 18 points, 10 rebounds, and six steals drove No. 21 UNLV Women’s decisive victory over San Diego State. Wednesday night, No. 21 UNLV Women defeated San Diego State 66-49 in a basketball match brimming with sporting zeal.

With this astounding triumph, UNLV is the first Mountain West team in three consecutive years to have won both the regular season and tournament championships. After a first-half tally of 20 points, UNLV responded with a significant surge in the third quarter. Ashley’s deep three-pointer and Desi Rae Young’s effective post plays gave No. 21 UNLV Women the lead in the contest. In establishing their 17-point lead, Woman of the Match Desi Rae Young scored four of five goals, while Scoggin, Alyssa Brown, and Amarachi Kimpson each scored three points.
